VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY AWARD WINNING SONGWRITER RECOGNIZED BY ÔSONG OF THE YEARÕ

Villanova University senior Conrad Heinz recently received the honor of being named ÔNovember 2005 WinnerÕ by the Song of the Year (http://www.songoftheyear.com/ ) songwriting contest. Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1Õs Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.

Song of the Year is excited to recognize Conrad for his exceptional songwriting ability for the song ÒBurnÓ. Conrad competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song Conrad commented that, ÒEvery song tells a story. This story was inspired greatly by the many obstacles that every young adult encounters during the transition from adolescence to adulthood; like relationships, emotional dependencies, and uncertainty of ones own self.  Being a college student, I tried to express my personal experiences and obstacles in one word with several underlying meanings - ÔBurnÕ – which IÕm sure most kids today would relate to and comprehend on a profound level.Ó

Currently, Conrad is concentrating on his music career while hoping to get a record deal, continue writing and performing his music, then moving on to work in music business/production. Conrad explains, ÒMy passion is music, and I want to live my passion.  Whether it be composing and performing my own material, or using my business background to manage and produce other talents, music is what I will do with my life.Ó
