Born into a family of musicians, Conrad Heinz knew music was his calling from the beginning.  His life as a composer, performer, and producer started in Columbia, MD, when he wrote and recorded his first song in the 4th grade, which ultimately sparked the realization of his ability and passion for music and performance.  Conrad explains, “My passion is music, and I want to live my passion.  Whether it be composing and performing my own material, or using my business background to manage and produce other talents, music is what I will do with my life.”  With countless shows and studio sessions come and gone, the International Business and Finance double major at Villanova University is working harder than ever to turn his dream into a reality.  Now 22 and obviously much more accomplished and experienced as a musician and businessman, Conrad continues to improve his talents and gaining exposure by writing “honest lyrics and story-telling ballads to which every college student can relate.”

After recording a six song EP at OK Records in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Conrad began gaining publicity around the Villanova and Baltimore areas, playing at local venues and selling his album. While continuously writing and recording, he entered his album, ‘B.A. Sessions’, into VH-1’s Song of the Year competition and shortly after was named ‘Winner’ of the Adult Contemporary category for November 2005.  ‘Burn’, the winning entry, “displays exceptionable songwriting skill” and received “the overall highest ratings” in his category.  Conrad is now focusing on furthering his experience in the music industry, all the while composing and performing more material.

Conrad gained invaluable recording experience when his father, a multi-media producer, taught him the basics of analogue, reel-to-reel, 8 track recording and told him to go to town, and indeed he did.  Although some early recordings have been lost, what remains demonstrates an innate understanding and comprehension of production and arrangement.  Improving with technology, he then learned the basics of ProTools, which he recorded on in his home studio.  Conrad has also recorded at Phase Studios in College Park, MD and at The Chicken Coop in Highland, MD.  Even with so many hours of studio, composing, and performing experience, Conrad decided to begin his career in business in hopes that one day he would be able to join these two careers.  His top choice school, Villanova University, provided him with a formal education in International Business and Finance. One may ask, “Why choose a career in the music industry now, or even risk the opportunities that await?”  The answer is simple for Conrad, “If I don’t do this now, I will regret it for the rest of my life.  I can always use my degree and knowledge of business to my advantage if I do in fact cross over to the other side of the sound booth and work in production or development.  Villanova produces great business minds, and I hope to put what I’ve learned to use alongside my knowledge of music.”
